I can hardly believe it but our baby boy is one! He arrived this time last year – 10 days past his due date – and completed our family in a way he didn’t know we needed but we couldn’t live without.
Teddy, with his bright blue eyes, strawberry blonde hair, and sparkling grin, is sweet, silly, curious, and a little bit mischevious.
He was my most active baby in the womb and he hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down yet. He’s busy from the moment he wakes up until the moment he crashes.
He can be found rummaging in cabinets, crawling in drawers, pulling out the TV cord, knocking over plants, pulling his sisters’ hair, pushing the buttons on the dishwasher, trying to reach doorknobs, and finding the tiniest pieces of Lego and uncapped markers his siblings have left on the floor. He’ll usually look back and give us a mischievous grin when he knows he’s about to get into something he shouldn’t.
He loves splashing in the bath (and more recently, the pool), and driving his blue car around the neighbourhood looking for bunnies and deer.
As the youngest of four, it’s not surprising he’s our earliest walker. Determined to keep up with the big kids, he’s been walking on his own for almost a month now. It’s no wonder he hated the car so much during his first few months; being confined in his car seat is still not one of his preferred activities.
He is also, without a doubt, our worst sleeper; he prefers to cuddle up next to Mommy rather than sleep in his crib. On that note, he’s truly Mommy’s boy; he likes to know where I am and prefers to be in my arms above all others.
He loves to cuddle and gives the best hugs. His older siblings adore him; Grayson will do anything to make him laugh and his big sisters shower him with hugs and kisses.
We’re so grateful this sweet boy came along and completed our family and we’re so looking forward to watching him continue to learn and grow.
